Ballistics-Resistant Window Film In Dallas
The world is a scary and uncertain place and although Dallas certainly is a safer place to live, raise a family and own a business than man other cities, sadly, acts of terrorism and acts of violence happen at random. Commercial buildings, in particular, are extra-susceptible to attacks from things like guns and bombs because they attract crowds of people where terrorists can do more damage. Also, schools and government buildings especially seem to be common places where gun violence is most rampant. This is why buildings of this nature and most others need to be prepared for acts of terrorism, mass shootings, and bomb attacks. One way to do this is ballistics resistant window film which is a powerful way to guard the weakest point of your buildings–your windows. These high high-tech window films play two critical roles: they keep glass in place after a bullet strike or a bomb blast and keep would-be attackers from gaining entry into the building for precious seconds and even minutes. Combined these two attributes keep glass from exploding and hurting people and gives those inside the building more time to escape–significantly increasing the odds of survival. One question we at Greenlight Window Films (besides whether or not bullet resistant window film stops bullets) is–”How much does ballistics resistant window film cost?” Below we have listed a range of costs of both regular security window film and bomb/ ballistics resistant window film too.
The Price Range For Security, Bomb Blast And Ballistics Resistant Window Film
Security Films
Price: $8-16 per square foot
These films keep glass in place and protected against blunt force on the windows of your property. This helps mitigate the damage done in crimes like “smash and grabs” because it takes significantly longer to get into a window treated with film–if at all. It also protects people in and around your building from flying glass debris. Should the window be hit with extreme force, the glass will break, but stay in place.
Bullet And Bomb Resistant Film
Price: $125 per square foot
Many people ask us if we carry “bulletproof glass”. The truth is, there is no such thing as a true “bulletproof glass” (any glass can be penetrated given enough time and a high enough caliber bullet), but we do offer a package that includes treatment with the nanoengineered C bond adhesive, which, when combined with high-level security window film and specialty frames, makes glass virtually impenetrable to bullets and bombs.
*Please note: Security films require the addition of specialty framing around each treated window. These frames are normally priced by the linear foot and range from $2-5 per linear foot.
